When I did the final broil/roast of the pork for the Pulled Pork Sandwiches, I also includes a turnip, some kind of sweet potato (this was all salvaged from another's fridge while house sitting), and a few baby carrots. The base stock is a five grain multi-grain mix. Who knows what exactly? Rice for sure, then oatmeal, probably a little barley, and then one or two other mystery grains. I suppose is says on the wrapper, but I threw that out long ago, so it really is a mystery at this point. Anyway, add some pepper, a dash of salt (and then, another and another, dash of salt that is) and this is what I call real home style comfort food, so maybe I grew up eating leftovers culled from other peoples refrigerators while they went on vacations. You'd think I'd remember something like that, but I'm getting old... old enough that it was only a matter of time before I started to repeat myself, which if you'll be so kind as to follow me to the TriTip Sandwich page, is where I will repeat myself next.
