Five Poems Inspired by Various Magazine Advertisements...
Eyes like a zombie
Fear in his heart
Staring
Into the distance
He sees nothing
Not a thought passes
Behind blank eyes
Nor a pulse of emotion
Through a cold heart
Now
There it is
Out of the scene
The street waif
Slumped shoulders
Droopy eyes
Hair uncut from youth
Shame uncut from pride
You could look far
And never find another
Diamond in the ruff
Searching
Waiting
So long
And then
She passes by
The moment gone
The dream lingers
But if she's going to be a character
I'll have to give her a name
Zho Chen
It comes
Just let it flow
Behind the counter
You see the man
And you've got to ask yourself
Do I want HIM...
Touching my food
Purple
Under a waning moon
I confess an impulse
To kill the man
And take his wife
His woman
Elegantly dressed in indolent style
Stupid
Pretentious
Oddly
Unattractive
I will find my prey elsewhere
And suddenly
I wonder
If that was the fashion's
True intent
You've got to wonder if the guy who wrote Cinderella had a shoe fetish
