Case Commentary

Prescribe: advocate, indicate

Proscribe: prohibit, condemn

I never use the word proscribe, as it sounds too much like an affirmative (pro) variation of the much more popular prescribe.

Or in other words, proscribe is proscribed in Double-Speak, as its surface meaning (pro-scribe, what scribes advocate) and actual meaning (what they don't) are in contradiction.

Sua Sponte: by its own authority

I find it pleasing that the 75th Ranger Regiment has adopted Sua Sponte as their motto.
We make our own authority, Mo-Fo!

By Might of Right!

Booyah!

Jurisdictional Authority

The Case in Short
As seen by an uneducated idiot

Claim Processing Rules limit Subject Matter Jurisdiction if raised in a Timely Manner, while True Jurisdictional Objections may be raised at any time.

When in doubt, it's just a Claims Processing Rule.
