Carrot Soup: The First
- Five Carrots
- White & Orange
- Water To Cover
- Boiled for An Hour
- Salmon Fish Skin
- From One Filet
- It added nothing.
- Salt & Pepper
- Salt is The Most Important Ingredient for any Soup like this.
- One Pad of Butter
- Mostly, because I'd have to break open a new stick if I wanted more.
- After the Salt, that lone Pad of Butter was The Second Most Important Ingredient.
- Lemon Juice
- From ¾ Lemon
- If these hadn't been started (and it is a these, as there were two separate containers going), I would have just used a squeeze of Bottled Lemon Juice.
- Easily, The Third Most Important Ingredient.
While boiling, The Water only contained Carrot. But I should have added The Fish Skin, as well. I did not, because I wanted to keep my options open and was thinking The Stick Blender would be easier to clean if no grease was present. But as I had to blend The Fish Skin anyhow (poor planning on my part, not realizing that last), it made no difference... not even in the cleaning, as The Fish Skin imparted little to no Grease, Fat, or Oil.
It got rave reviews and was compared to Five Star Restaurant Food. So, I would definitely do again... certainly, the Butter, Lemon, & Salt part. The Fish Skin, however, did not impart enough flavour to make a difference. Well, maybe it added a hint of umami that made all the difference. But if so, I haven't the type of taste buds or experience to know.
Carrot Soup: The Second
- Eight Carrots
- And in comparison to the quantity used for the previous recipe (was 5, now 8), the first thing that comes to mind is The Fibonacci Sequence.
- Three Parts Water
- You know, is sort of what it looked like to me.
- This write-up (for The Second Soup) is happening a full day later.
- Condiment Curry Soup
- Yes, indeed, that was one of the working titles for this creation.
- 4 Packets Wasabi
- 2 Packets Sweet & Sour
- 1 Packet Soy
- 1 Packet Hot Mustard
- Pinch of Salt
- And let me just say, The Soup was real disappointing at this point.
- That Wasabi did me no favours.
- Two Pads Butter
- I do like my Butter.
- But this did not fix The Soup.
- Not even close.
- Lemon - Salt - Butter
- Was added to minimal effect.
- Two Turns Pepper
- I neglected to pay the slightest attention, as I drank This Cup.
- Oh, well.
- Suffice to say, I did not use any further Pepper.
- Heavy Ginger Lemon
- So, I tasted Sour and not Wasabi, which was an improvement.
- Ranch Dressing
- 2-3 Teaspoons Worth...
- Which is to say, 2-3 Spoons as Used for Tea, heaping with Homemade Ranch, by others.
- Sour Cream & Spice I am led to believe
- Which is to say, 2-3 Spoons as Used for Tea, heaping with Homemade Ranch, by others.
- This was The Winner!
- Hands down.
Also, I really liked spiking The Soup Cup-By-Cup. It expanded The Experimental Range, allowing me to taste five different versions on The Final Pot of Soup... which is a good thing, as this time around, that's how many tries it took to get it right.
